Synopsis
Tanaka Tamako had been working for a male-dominated restaurant business but was betrayed by her boyfriend who was hired as the chef. Plot
In the autumn of 2013, former university art professor Nakahara Seiji (Tamura Masakazu) traces the location of Iwasaki Kenji (Nakao Akiyoshi), who killed his beloved daughter, Yukiko (Yagyu Miyu), a fresh university graduate with a promising future before her. He shoots him dead with a hunting gun, and immediately turns himself in to the police … … Yukiko was raped and strangled by Iwasaki. Her body, killed in cold blood, was found, one and a half years ago in May 2012. Iwasaki was quickly arrested, but was handed a not guilty sentence by the judge (Hiraizumi Sei) presiding over the trial. Of all things. The trial could not go on because his confession was considered extracted from him through brute police force. Nakahara and his wife, Akiko (Ichige Yoshie), who had believed Iwasaki would receive the death sentence, were pushed into an abyss of despair. Akiko fell ill in a short time and passed away. After losing the people he loved one after another, Nakahara decided on revenge on Iwasaki who had robbed him of his family, and on the legal system which could not punish a vicious criminal … … He plainly admits to murdering Iwasaki and has no wish for a reduced sentence. Intending to fight against the administration of justice alone, Nakahara turns down a lawyer. However, Ogata Nobuko (Takeuchi Yuko), a former prosecutor of the Tokyo District Public Prosecutor’s Office, becomes his new lawyer. Nobuko, who is still young in terms of experience, was angered by her superior’s irrational judgement and resigned from her job. In order to defend Nakahara, Nobuko first starts investigating the murder of his daughter. She learns that Yukiko was quite a naive, diligent daughter. Something unusual nowadays. However, an eyewitness stated that Yukiko got into Iwasaki’s car herself. Why would she have done that? Nobuko goes into the trial without resolving these questions. Plot
Morita Sae (Takimoto Miori) lives in the town of Futaba in Fukushima Prefecture. One day, when she visits Spa Resort Hawaiians with her family and their pet dog, Choco, she sees girls doing the hula dance and gets completely engrossed. Time passes. Sae joins Spa Resort Hawaiians. She fulfils her dream to become a hula girl and enjoys her days to the fullest. But on 11 March 2011 at 2.46 p.m. when she is taking a break back stage after the end of a show, the Great East Japan Earthquake hits. Her peaceful, regular life undergoes a sudden change. Transportation and telecommunications are disrupted due to the earthquake. At the hotel, the manager Haseda Takeshi (Ihara Tsuyoshi) issues instructions to staff to take care of guest needs as much as possible. Sae and fellow dancers, Takezawa Kasumi (Haru) and Shimano Hikari (Sasamoto Rena), wait for their families to contact them. She focuses on her family and Choco. At the Moritas at that moment, her father Zenko (Taguchi Hiromasa), mother Ayano (Nakahara Kannan) and elder sister Ami (Sato Megumi) are all safe, but a temporary evacuation warning has been issued because of a second earthquake alert. Sae finally gets hold of her family. The next morning, she rushes over to the evacuation centre where they are waiting. However, Choco is not there. Sae dissolves into tears at the memories of Choco. She had always had her family and Choco by her side. It was Choco that cheered her up each time she came back home after she joined Spa Resort Hawaiians and got yelled at by the instructor, Yoshimoto Minako (Kikuchi Momoko), for not being able to dance to her satisfaction, and whenever she had difficult moments. Forced into harsh circumstances because of the earthquake, Sae and the hula girl members grow depressed. But they also believe in resuming their dance and begin to practice with Minako’s encouragement. Meanwhile, taking Hikari’s suggestion, they pay visits to evacuation centres as well as start the Hula Girls National Kizuna Caravan to hold free performances nationwide to cheer up and bring smiles throughout Japan with the hula dance. The hula girls including Sae transform their sorrow and pain into smiles for the sake of Fukushima’s rehabilitation and Spa Resort Hawaiians’ reopening. Like the hula girls 46 years ago, they head to various parts of the country. However, adversity beyond their imagination awaits them.

Synopsis
Ishibashi Naoto is a successful reporter who has just gotten married to his girlfriend, Saki, whom he met one month earlier. Plot
In 1868, a battle between new government forces and shogunate forces are about to take place in Edo. Katsu Kaishu (Hiroshi Tamaki) wants to avoid useless bloodshed and sends a peace envoy to Takamori Saigō, but Katsu Kaishu is unable to get a response from Takamori Saigō. One day, Katsu Kaishu meets high school teacher Mikako (Satomi Ishihara) and her student Masaya who is captivated by the shogunate. Mikako and her student Masaya tells Katsu Kaishu that they are from the future. Katsu Kaishu takes care of Mikako and her student Masaya, while Mikako hopes to go back to the future where she came from.
